U.S. - China Relations
The Blame Game : U.S.- China Relations
"Its not about how you play the game, its about how you place the blame"

How far will the coronavirus outbreak deteriorate the already strained ties between US and China ?
President Donald Trump's recent attacks on China over the coronavirus outbreak risks not only the deterioration of already strained ties between the two countries but also brings the global economy in a precarious situation. Mr. Trump seeks to hold China accountable for the infection spread. He has attempted to tie the virus to a virology lab in Wuhan, the epicentre of the outbreak. When U.S. halted funding for the World Health Organization last month, China stepped in as a support with an additional $30 million grant.
Mr. Trump echoed the party sentiment when he said in an interview that China “will do anything” to defeat him in the November election.
What shape will the U.S.-China relations take ?
The Trade war by Mr. Trump and the push to weaken Chinese giant Huawei’s global bid to roll out 5G technology had impacted the four decades long partnership. However, both sides agreed to an initial trade agreement in January, 2020 that U.S. will cut some tariffs on Chinese goods in return for China’s pledge to buy more American products. A final trade deal is yet to be reached. With Covid-19 coming into the picture the situation is worsening. Also, China who has now brought the virus situation at home under control, has sent economic and medical assistance to many countries.
The bad news for the whole world is that U.S. and Chinese governments now appear more interested in taunting each other than cooperating. Recently, Chinese State releases animated video mocking U.S. response to coronavirus and U.S. administration's claims on Covid-19 coverup by China.
Something to make out form the current situation
No one can tell whether these fierce emotions by both the nations will lead to a new trade war or a currency war or a cold war or a real hot one. But with any war one thing is common - Suffering. Since the existence of humans on this planet, the world is suffering from conflicts and wars not from any other specie but from their own fellow beings.
If the goals are to defeat the virus, save lives and rebuild economies and societies, those can be achieved only through global cooperation, neither through accusations nor with a war.
